Callsafe Services Ltd. is an occupational health and safety consultancy which was formed in 1986 and has been deeply involved with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations since the original recommendations of the Health and Safety Executive in 1989.
CDM Co-ordinator
Our extensive experience in carrying out planning supervision (now CDM co-ordination) in building (including demolition and refurbishment), process plant installations, refurbishment and modifications, and civil engineering work provides invaluable assistance to clients. This experience, plus our experience in construction health and safety management and our involvement in the consultation process for the 2007 version of the regulations places us at the forefront of best practice for these duties and responsibilities.
Our best practice methods for the delivery of the CDM co-ordinator duties on projects have been recognised as such by our accreditation by the Association for Project Safety (APS) as a Registered Practice – CDM Co-ordinator. This accreditation follows a successful audit by the APS of our CDM Co-ordinator (CDM-C) management arrangements, evidence of our compliance with these, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM2007) and the Approved Code of Practice (L144). The audit also evaluates our commitment to best practice arrangements and to providing competent and cost-effective advice and other services, required of a CDM-C, to our clients.
The lead team members of Callsafe CDM co-ordinator teams will always be a registered CDM co-ordinator with the APS. Callsafe Services Limited provides a totally independent service without any conflict of interest so that the client's interests are paramount.
Support to CDM Co-ordinator
Callsafe Services Limited have previously worked extensively with other construction professionals to provide the professional health and safety input for their role as planning supervisor. This service is also offered to CDM Co-ordinators under CDM2007. We continue to provide this service to other organization taking on the duties of CDM-C in order to establish a competent and adequately resourced CDM-C team for the project.
Support to other CDM Duty Holders
Callsafe Services Limited have, and continue to provide support, advice and auditing/inspection services to client, designer, principal contractor and contractor duty holders under CDM2007.
Consultancy
Callsafe Services Limited also provide consultancy to write or to assist in establishing procedures for the implementation of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. We also perform an auditing function for the confirmation of other organisations’ application of best practice, including that of the CDM-C.
